I’m almost always listening to music. I reach for my favourite sounds when I travel, when I write, to workout, when I want to relax… Suffice it so to say, most of us sound trip when we’re in our feels. Music is powerful enough to invoke and heighten certain emotions. That’s why you get those goosebumps when Miguel opens his beautiful face. It also has the power to provoke and steer the imagination. Perhaps that’s what the legendary Elton John meant when he said that music has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours.
To prove a more concrete point, let’s add a little science into the equation (well HELLO two years of genetic engineering in uni!). When you hear a song that stimulates you, your brain springs into action. Your cerebellum then sends information to your amygdala, which gives you an instant dopamine high and rouses your memory, and motor centres. Moreover, music can also help you to focus more on your craft. For some artists, dead silence distracts just as much as background noise. I personally can’t concentrate on my writing and photography nearly as much as I can with music in the background. There’s nothing better to kindle my creative musings!
Sure, what works for one may not work for another. Nonetheless, I know I can always rely on music to stimulate me and stir my creativity when I need it the most. Like for example, this product shoot. *Thank you my dear Nikon for exploding and deciding you needed a trip to the tech hospital that badly. **Thank you iPhone6 for stepping up to the task and performing better than expected. ***And thank you Sudio Vasa Blå for being oh so gorgeous, as well as easy to work with!
African girls love a rhythm, and I love mine with a passion! So many of our languages are tonal and are very much connected with our music. Music plays a huge part in my culture. That probably explains why I can’t ignite my creativity without a beat through my Sudio earphones.
If you’re like me and like to multi-task and move around while listening to music, then the Sudio Vasa Blå wireless earphones are for you. Here’s a little trivia: the guys behind this innovative product got the name from Phil Collins—yes, THE Phil Collins. Mr. Collins was having trouble with his headphones, and that inspired the team to create a better alternative for Phil (and all of us like him who are tired of the knotty and not-so-reliably-ready traditional headphones).
The best part of these earphones is that they’re wireless! Now you don’t have to worry about wires that tangle and limit your movement. You also don’t have to worry about splurging on similar quality bluetooth earphones like Beats for double the cost. These babies deliver incredible studio quality sound. They feature an elegant design with a range of colours to choose from, and give you up to 8 hours of freedom to move. You can also pair them with your phone and talk with your BFF with their built-in microphone. Not to mention, there’s a useful remote that you can control your phone with. And I mean the rose gold accents? So Sudio xx
