The Blog Catchup

So, hi 🙂 I just want to start off this post by sighing. If you’ve been part of Pretty Weird Bombshell from the beginning, you’ve witnessed the branding rollercoaster. I’ve incorporated over 3 themes, 5 logos, and 27,193 colour schemes into my “brand” over the past 8 months. I’ve spent countless nights (like 106 actually) mixing and matching ideas, and researching my “next move”. This blog business is no joke…

It’s easy to see what another blogger has accomplished and assume they were born with those editing skills, or impeccable eye for photography, or with their immaculately curated site. Nonetheless, no one is born knowing the perfect blog layouts, or how to maximize font usage. Admiring people’s work has always been beneficial for me. Comparing my 8 months of work to their 5 years, however, now that’s never been productive. Even when you feel like there’s no way you can breakthrough because of how saturated the blogging industry is, know that consistently kicking ass will slowly but surely push you ahead of the pack.

Recently, I’ve taken a look back at my journey. And god damn have I improved! The hundreds of hours I spent learning basic coding, how to use editing software, how to properly understand my analytics, and increasing social media engagement has not been a waste of time. Working on yourself and your dreams never is.

But unfortunately, I’m not satisfied yet. Not because I’m insatiable or impossible to please, but because I haven’t yet managed to bring my vision to life. My photography is getting a little better every week, my writing more transparent. So long story longer, expect a few changes around here for the next few weeks… It’s time to make the dream theme thing come true!

Also, #sendhelp! If you see any misalignments, bugs, or site errors, please reach out and let me know 🙂 With tons of love,

Kandja xx

  • You are stunning, stunning, STUNNING! This post couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I just went through my youtube channel and I’m still laughing at how absolutely horribly my early videos were. I’m no Spielberg, but GOD – have I improved. Blogging and the whole social media thing is indeed a lot of work, and you seem like a perfectionist, and it shows through your beautiful and fun blog. Well done!

  • I’ve been following you for a good few months now and yes, I remember the previous change but you know what? It’s a sign of a good blogger. One whom want to improvise and one whom takes blogging seriously and it’s refreshing to see a blogger who gives an arse about her work.

  • Love your design and layout babe! Your logo is so stylish and I think it’s a lovely reflection of your brand and blog. Always developing and try to become a better blogger is key for success! I think we’re all struggling with different things when it comes to blogging, it’s so much more than just writing and a photo. Like HTML, CSS, marketing, editors etc etc. But it’s just to keep going and learning!

    Have a lovely week! Xx

Blogging is really learning how to wear a million hats and be ok with it. As long as it makes YOU happy that is really all that matters. It is so hard not compare your timeline to someone else’s. I just had that moment and had to learn to be ok with my progress. For what it is worth, I think it’s beautiful!!

  • brownpaperdoll

Wow how gorgeous! That green looks amazing on you, and all of those pieces look so luxe! Things might have been a roller coaster thus far… but keep it up!

  • I think it’s great how you recognize where to improve while also giving yourself a pat on the back for how far you’ve come! Blogging is so easy so constantly strive to be better, but it’s important to give yourself credit too!

  • This is exactly how I feel about my blog! I’m finally starting to feel happy about it and I’ve started adding more personality to my posts which makes it so much easier to write!

It’s never a finished work with a blog!! I couldn’t relate more, lovely! I am constantly working on it figuring out ways to improve it. What I really want (and need!!) is a bit of help from a graphic designer. So far I can only change or tweek not a whole lot but at least I am keeping the quality of my posts up to the highest possible standard I can do (crazy perfectionist here lol). The one thing I know that beats any design or colour theme (you get the idea) is personality. Without it, any blog is just a cold pretty picture. I love how open and honest you are with your readers, beauty 🙂

  • You’ve done a fabulous job maintaining your website and improving it! This isn’t something that happens overnight. I never thought I’d need to learn how to code, but here we are, coding. Fashion bloggers are really clever as a result of having to wear so many hats! We’re also fairly quick learners. 🙂
