Hi Beautiful Souls!
It’s wonderful to be home from LA! My weekend away visiting family flew by even quicker than anticipated… Late nights, early mornings, and running around like a chicken fuelled on protein smoothies and African food certainly had me missing my bed (even though I wouldn’t change those circumstances for the world).
I must say however that I almost always miss my damn bed (why are the tempurpedic so comfy??). Especially since I splurged on new silk pjs! A cute silky pyjama set transitions so perfectly from the bedroom to daytime chic with a jean jacket and cool sneakers. *This has been my brunch uniform our last few morning dates. Can a rut look this good and be this comfortable?* Brunching in Vancouver is also in fact one of my favourite weekend activities. The only thing better is having breakfast in bed.
Hence how I ended up in bed with Camilla, my makeup artist, my dog, and another girlfriend who hasn’t yet made her blog debut 🙂 … With a breakfast sprawl fit for a queen. It was heavenly being spoiled for those couple hours. So heavenly that I thought I’d share my checklist for how to breakfast in bed like a boss. Here’s how to recreate your own breakfast in bed your highness:
1. Dress the part.
Feeling fabulous starts within. But if you’re wanting to spoil yourself with breaky in bed, for the love of god take off your college sweatpants and ratty t-shirt first! Be comfortable, but be luxurious too… Below I’ve linked my favourite silk/ satin pyjama sets this season, take a look!
2. Don’t forget to toast.
Having a cold pressed juice, or something more fun like a mimosa, elevates any breakfast game. Which is why you can’t forget to treat yourself. Make a batch of lemonade or pop open a bottle of bubbles. Then, with drink in hand, toast to something special you accomplished or are setting out to do. Even if you’re alone 🙂
3. Splurge on organic.
For me, my favourite parts of eating brunch out are the pastries and fruit platters. Splurging on organic berries and cupcakes is the easiest way to spice up the moment and add some fancy. Plus, you never regret eating clean (-ish).
4. Take your time.
Don’t think you’re going to breakfast in bed like a princess if you only have 30 minutes to chill. Set aside at least an hour to take your time and enjoy the moment.
