It’s About That Time

I was down with quite the head cold last week. But before you feel bad for me (lol, like you have time to feel bad for me) – I only got sick because I shot a couple spring blog looks in some not so spring weather… #bloggerlife! Luckily, with a little TLC and some much needed me time, I made a full recovery in record time. Not only did I come back feeling healthy, I came back feeling motivated and positive too! And without the typical “oh my god, I just wasted a four days of my life” guilt.

Speaking of. Isn’t it crazy how guilty you feel when you do something “selfish”? Taking the day off when your body needs to rest, or eating something luxurious when your soul needs the calories should not be so painful. It’s about that time to take care of yourself- in fact, its ALWAYS that time.

There’s a tremendous amount of stress and pressure put on women: being parents, being daughters, mothers, wives, professionals. All of these roles combined leave many of us not taking adequate care of ourselves – which is what sustains us and gives us the energy to take care of all these other responsibilities that we have. Which is also why it’s always a good time to do something positive for yourself!

3 easy “Me Time” things to do for yourself today (to get over a cold, to motivate yourself, to get that pampering in, etc)

  1. Take a warm epsom salt bath: Epsom salts absorbed through the skin work to relieve muscle tension, pain, and inflammation in joints. Submerge yourself in a warm Epsom salt bath to alleviate tension headaches or soothe abdominal cramps. Plus who doesn’t love the coziness of a warm tub?
  2. Meditate for 20 minutes: Even if you’re not a master meditator, sitting quietly for 20 minutes does wonders to settle the mind and recenter the heart.
  3. Rock a mask in a onesie: Girrrrl! Need I say more? Throw on your favourite face mask, wear something comfy, and park yourself on the couch (maybe with a glass of wine?) for a quick life break. Your skin will thank you!

Never forget what time it is! xx

Yes to this, babe! The guilt thing is so real sometimes, yet it’s important to remind ourselves it’s perfectly fine sometimes to enjoy some down time to recover, rest up, spend time with our loved ones or chillin’ in a bath tub. Whatever we need to do to feel better physically, mentally and emotionally needs to be done <3
Glad you've recovered super quickly, girl! And by the way, fabulous outfit!! Love your choice of shoes!!
